Elevation Revelation
Camp Everywhere!
The Rev Tent Storm Cover is a 3000mm HH P/U rated protective shield for extra protection in extreme weather conditions.
Want to slumber safe and sound like a bear hibernating for the winter? This 3000mm P/U hood cocoons your Rev Tent for a tip top, ship shape battening of the hatches. While the 1500MM* protection of the Rev Tent outer fly does the trick for a night or two of hard rain - if you are one of those campers who wants to endure days or rain and sleet without any fear of fabric saturation, carry this storm cover in your camp gear kit.
The Rev Tent storm cover is engineered with a 3000 mm Hydrostatic Head rating, ensuring dependable waterproof performance under sustained water pressure. The doors are seam taped, with storm flaps and reverse‑coil, PU‑coated zippers designed to shed water and prevent water seepage
This cover fits the Original Rev Tent.
*a 1500 mm HH rating on the Rev Tent built-in fly is the standard level waterproof coating for most camping tents. A few high end mountaineering tents come with a higher waterproof coating standard. This coating is not standard as it increases the cost, weight, and rigidity of the fabric.
INCLUDES:
1 Rev Tent Cover *fits the original Rev Tent (does not fit the Rev Tent (g2)
MATERIAL:
100% Polyester 300D oxford cloth, 3000MM P/U waterproof coating
Q: Why would I need a "storm cover" if the Rev Tent already has a built in rain fly?
A: The glib answer - Rain is rain. A storm is a storm! The measured answer - the built-in fly of the Rev Tent protects the inside of the tent from a typical rain shower. The 1500mm coating is standard for basic waterproofing of tent material. This means in test environments when water reaches 1500mm in a column of downward pressure water will start penetrating the fabric. So, more rain over a longer period of time and the fabric in the Rev Tent fly may start to get saturated. If you are in an intense storm for many many hours, this penetration may start to occur. It is difficult to describe (or know) exactly how many hours / days / inches / cms of rain will cause the fly material to start to saturate, but know that the 1500mm rating is the most common coating in waterproof camping tents. Consider the Storm Cover with a 3000mm HH rating for "professional storm camping!" It's not for everyone, but when you know, you know.
CARE:
Make sure the storm cover is completely dry before you pack it away. Leave your gear out in the sun after a camp trip. Moldy tent material is difficult, if not impossible to clean.
