Product Details

The Rev Pick-Up Tent is a 4 season, 2 person tent with a built-in 4"/ 11cm foam mattress that sets up quick in the truck bed or on the ground for the most comfortable camp sleeps.  Can also be used as a vehicle roof top tent with additional accessories.

Improvements to the 2nd generation Rev Pick-up Tent include a new giant main entrance, increased head room, a moon roof for stargazing and a new removable fly that covers the sides of the bed for improved rain water run off.

We worked tirelessly over a decade developing, testing and manufacturing a quality, feature rich, timeless camping tent that is far superior to the disposable "one and done" tents commonly found in mass retail.

With advanced performance PFAS free fabrics, fully taped seams and lab tested for intense rains and gale force winds, the Rev Pick-Up Tent is built to perform on the most extreme adventures.

You deserve to wake up fresh for any adventure. Whether hitting the trail for a hike or a ride, climbing that rock face, catching a wave, or just chilling with a book and keeping the campfire stoked, give your body a well-earned rest and upgrade to a legit night of deep camp sleep on a real mattress in the Rev Tent.

To sleep in the bed of a pick-up in a Rev Pick-Up Tent, we recommend at least 48" wide and 84" long (with the tailgate down). The Rev Pick-Up Tent is a perfect fit out of the box for full size pick-ups and some mid sizes like the Honda Ridgeline and Rivian.

If you have a mid size pick-up with wheel wells narrower than 48" - like a Toyota Tacoma - you can make a quick and easy modification to the mattress to make the Rev Pick-Up Tent fit.  See our HELP DESK for more info.

The Rev Pick-Up Fly Sheet is adjustable and fits medium to full size pick up beds.

To transport the closed Rev Tent to your destination, you can carry one or more in the bed, or attach directly over the cab to the bare roof, cross bars, roof rails or roof rack. C6 Outdoor Rev Straps can be used to tie down the Rev Tent to Cross Bars or in combo with the Rev Door Hooks to mount the Rev Tent directly to a vehicle roof top.

If you want to use a roof rack to transport the Rev Tent, we offer various mounting systems compatible with popular roof rack brands.

The Rev Pick-Up Tent is future proof. As your camping style evolves, so can the Rev Pick-Up Tent. It's effortless to expand the functionality. If you want to camp on the ground and free up your truck bed - check. If you want to start camping on the roof of your vehicle - check.

To sleep in a Rev Tent on a roof rack just choose a mounting system.

To sleep in a Rev Tent on a vehicle roof with cross bars or a small roof rack, you need the Rev Platform X.

All our fly sheets are compatible with the inner Rev Tent and can be purchased separately.  Need to use your Rev Tent on the ground in inclement weather?  Purchase an Element or HellaStorm Fly Sheet as an add on.

The Rev Pick-Up Tent is built for generations of use in a variety of elevations and conditions. It's the first tent you never knew you needed and the last tent you'll ever need.

Accessories

For ground and pick-up bed camping, the Rev Tent is ready to go out of the box.

FAQs

Q:  HOW DO I GET IN MY TENT?
A:  Climb in to the extra large entry door at your tailgate. For ground campers, there are 3 doors that double as windows. No more climbing over your sleep partner to get in or out of the tent!  And we’ve made sure the side tent openings are super tall so you don’t have to commando crawl in to the tent.

Q:  I WANT TO CAMP ON THE GROUND AND IN MY PICK-UP NOW, BUT MAY WANT TO CAMP ON MY VEHICLE ROOF LATER.  CAN I UPGRADE?
A:  The Rev Tent can be set up on the ground or in the back of a pick-Up truck* right out of the box.  The Rev Tent comes with Guylines and Tent Stakes. When you’re ready to vehicle top camp, if you have the appropriate roof rack*,  all you’ll need is a mounting kit  (for Front Runner, Yakima or Rhino Racks 48” x 84” / 1220 mm  x  2134 mm or larger).  If you have load  bars or a smaller roof rack, you just need to purchase the Rev Tent Platform X.

Q:  HOW DO I STORE MY REV TENT?
A:  We recommend hanging it on your garage wall. If you don’t have a garage, you can store it under your bed, or in a walk in closet. You can even break the mattress down and store the tent in the original boxes if necessary.

Q:  HOW DO I GET MY REV TENT TO THE CAMPSITE?
A:  The closed Rev Tent is 47.25” L  x 42.25” W  x  8.5” T  /  120 cm  x  107 cm  x 22 cm.   It only weighs 25 lbs.  You can throw it in the bed of your pick up, or the trunk of a SUV. The folded Rev Tent even fits in the back of a Tesla.

Most will carry the Rev Tent to the adventure destination on a vehicle roof. The outer case has plenty of tabs with grommets for multiple strapping options. We recommend using the Rev Straps for attachment to load / cross bars or any roof rack. You can even strap the tent directly to your vehicle roof using the Rev Straps along with the Rev Door Hooks

If you have a Front Runner, Rhino or Yakima Roof Rack you can secure your tent to the rack with the appropriate mount kit.  (Front Runner rack Transport Kit,  Yakima / Rhino Rack Transport kit)

Q:  HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SET A REV TENT UP?
A:  GROUND and TRUCK BED set up time:  3 minutes.   1. Unzip and flip open.  2.  assemble 4 poles,  3.  pop in fly sheet eyebrows.   4. Pound in optional tent stakes and guylines or set tent in truck bed.  5. Add the fly sheet.

Q:  WILL THE REV PICK-UP TENT FIT IN MID SIZE PICK-UP BEDS LIKE THE TACOMA, COLORADO OR HILUX?
A: Officially, no.  Unofficially, yes!  Some customers have executed a hack to get the mattress to fit between the wheel wheels.  All it takes is a box cutter or scissors and about 5 minutes to cut out about 2 inches from each side of the hard foam in the shape of the wheel wells at the bottom of the mattress.  The Rev Tent will fit and the mattress adjustment is not noticeable.

scout tent for p/u bed

I have been looking for a tent for the back of my truck for awhile now. I wanted one that did not need to be attached, with a rear entrance, and good ventilation. Also, one that could be used on a large cot or on the ground. the quality and ease of set-up is great.I will be using it this fall when the temp. drops.

Beginners or Advanced this is all you need

I have been a newbie to camping and wanted to upgrade for awhile. I survived a hail storm in a $30 tent and although fun I knew I needed to upgrade soon but I struggled to find something with a small footprint and easy to do alone. My friend (an avid hiker and camper) had just upgraded to C6 and I fell in love with the color, concept, and versatility! I love the idea that it can grow with me and right now it fits in the back of my 2024 Tacoma perfectly! (Fun tip just cut down one set of the hard foam and not any of the soft and you will get the perfect fit) I love this tent/company and can’t wait to get the additional accessories next!

2nd and Last Pick-Up Tent

My last pick-up tent was ok. Took a bit longer to set up than the Rev Tent. And tied up my bed even when I needed to use it. My Rev Tent spends half it's camping time on the ground when I need my truck bed. And if it's wet or muddy or I have the space, I pitch it in the bed. On the topic of beds, the Rev Tent mattress is A+. Solid contruction, sturdy frame, love that all 4 windows can also be used as doors. tons of options.

C6 Outdoor Rev Pickup Truck Tent Review

The Good:
1. Top notch workmanship, quality, & made to last.
2. Great Support if needed.
3. Fantastic wind resistance. Living in the desert we get some strong winds but little rain. That said one night there was a short burst of wind driven rain and the tent stayed dry. If you're getting high wind gusts the tent can be staked at multiple points. The poles are robust enough to be able to withstand gusts.
4. Take comfort in that everything is as advertised.
5. Every time I start a new home project I am happy that my tent is in the garage and I have the full benefit of my truck to transport home project materials.
6. I usually wake to my bins with camping food etc. outside of the tent covered in condensation. I have not had any condensation in the tent.
7. As high temperatures can be an issue where I live & camp in the summer, I like a tent with a lot of screen area. This tent has great ventilation & is comfortable.
8.No fly to put on, as it is permanently attached in the optimum position. .

The Bad (perhaps only for me):
I was unable to use the diagrams to correctly set-up the tent. This is a personal “fault” as In general I do poorly with diagrams and much better with step by step written instructions. There are a couple videos that can be viewed that if you have any issue will help a lot. Watch those videos and do not make the mistake I made of not calling support when I had an issue setting the tent up, they will help you solve any issue you may have. That said, once you know how to set up the tent it is easy, fast to set-up/take down & you will do it quicker each time.

Good to know if you own a Toyota Tacoma 2005 or later:
You can still enjoy the benefits of the C6 Rev Tent by cutting a contour of about 1.75” max off the stiff foam where it sits between the wheel wells. I have a single cab and so I just had to cut 2 of the forward foam pieces which I did when I was satisfied I would keep the tent. I still have the original sleeping width at my shoulders (where it usually matters the most) and only a slightly narrower area at the wheel wells which is not noticed.
It is a bit awkward to set the tent up in the compact Taco. So I set the tent up on the ground except for the two awnings. If you have no bed racks & there are two of you, lift it into the Taco. If you're solo or have permanent bed racks, you can pull it in from the tailgate. Once the tent is in the truck bed, & positioned I install the awnings.

Summary: Have full use of your truck when not camping, with a Rev quality & comfortable tent.

Support

Before assembling your product, download and read these instructions!  While you may be able to wing it, there are some important steps you have to get right for warranty coverage and FOR YOUR SAFETY!

These .pdf guides are designed to be read and referenced from a phone or tablet offline while assembling product.

HANDY HINT 1: Make sure you download the file, as you may not have internet where ever you chose to assemble your product.

HANDY HINT 2: If using Acrobat Reader, read the guide in "single page mode".

WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions could result in damage to the product, your vehicle, or yourself and others.  Please contact us if you are confused or concerned about any of the steps or use of this product.

****  WE DO NOT HAVE SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PICK-UP TENT FLY SHEET INSTALLATION - as it is pretty self explanatory.   Hook the straps underneath your  vehicle to the frame.  Cinch em up.   Put the hoop in the front over the door, and  you're off to comfy, weatherproof camping!  ****

EXTENDED CARE:

Do not use soap to clean the tent body!  Soap can damage the protective coatings.  Wipe down the case and tent with water and a soft cloth.

Every few seasons, consider applying seam tape sealant to maintain the water proof properties of the seams.

To extend the usable life of your tent, we recommend removing tent from the sun and elements when not in use.

When your Rev Tent gets wet, you must air dry it completely before zipping it up. We also recommend storing the tent with a gap in the case zipper.  Leave an opening for a little breathing room! Also, consider keeping the silicate packet included with the tent packaging and use it when storing the tent off season.  The last thing you want is for your tent to get moldy.  It happens and can destroy the fabric.
