Q:  HOW EASY IS THE SET UP? 
A:  Easy.  Due to the modular nature of the Rev Tent system there are a few quick steps.   1. Remove the ladder from the storage bag and Rev Tent from the platform.   2. Attach the ladder to the platform.   3.  Fold platform open.  4.  Pitch the tent.  5. Attach the Rev Tent to the platform with the 4 Rev Straps.   The set up shouldn't take more than 5-7 minutes -  no more time than an ordinary roof top tent.

Q:  HOW DO I TRANSPORT THE REV TENT & PLATFORM? 
A:  We at C6 call the packing method the “Pancake Stack.”  The ladder, stored in the ladder case, is strapped to the tent, which is in turn strapped to the platform.   The Rev Roof Rack Tent includes all the necessary Rev Straps.

Q: I'M WORRIED I'M TOO SHORT TO SET UP THE REV TENT WHILE ITS UP ON THE VEHICLE!  
A:  You might be!  Who are we to judge?  You can stand on the tires and inside the vehicle with the doors open to assemble the poles, or many Rev experts choose to set up the tent on the ground and then lift it to the top of the platform.  Remember, the tent only weighs 25 lbs and can be easily carried by 1 person. 

Q:  CAN I MOVE THE PLATFORM ALONE OR WILL I NEED HELP? 
A:  The platform weighs 48 lbs / 22 Kgs.    It is not difficult for one person to lift the platform to the vehicle roof before a trip or to remove it for storage after a trip.

Q:  CAN I LEAVE THE PLATFORM ON MY VEHICLE? 
A:  You can, but it’s not recommended.  You’ll get many more years of use out of the product if it is kept out of the elements while not in use.   

Q:  HOW DO I STORE MY REV TENT? 
A:  We recommend hanging it on your garage wall. If you don’t have a garage, you can store it under your bed, or in a walk in closet. You can even break the mattress down and store the tent in the original boxes if necessary.   

Before assembling your product, download and read these instructions!  While you may be able to wing it, there are some important steps you have to get right for warranty coverage and FOR YOUR SAFETY!

EXTENDED CARE:

Do not use soap to clean the tent body!  Soap can damage the protective coatings.  Wipe down the case and tent with water and a soft cloth. 

Every few seasons, consider applying seam tape sealant to maintain the water proof properties of the seams. 

To extend the usable life of your tent, we recommend removing tent from the sun and elements when not in use.   

When your Rev Tent gets wet, you must air dry it completely before zipping it up. We also recommend storing the tent with a gap in the zipper.  Leave an opening for a little breathing room!

FINE PRINT:

We don’t recommend rolling with the Rev Platform mounted to your vehicle full time.  Although it looks sharp with its all black incognito vibe, you’ll get a longer life out of the product if you store the Rev Platform in your garage, or otherwise out of the elements when not in use.   For use with Front Runner Roof Racks, consider mounting the Rev Platform with the Front Runner Quick Release Tent Mount kit, or the Front Runner Tent Mounts.  While the Rev Platform can mount directly to  the rack with included hardware, using the Front Runner systems can offer easier access to the mounting hardware and quicker on and off of the Rev Platform. 

For use with the Rhino Pioneer platform, you may have to drill through the slats in order to mount the Rev Tent Platform.  And it’s not just us - the Rhino Rack Pioneer platform needs to be modified to work with many roof top tents.  Rhino recommends drilling through their slats for roof top tent mounting and adds “due to the reinforced nylon and aluminum materials of the Pioneer Platform, there is no risk or corrosion or structural weakening.”  Rhino also sells a tent mount kit.

PRO TIP:  Some vehicles are tall.   Some people are short.   It may not be physically possible for you to reach all the poles to set up the tent.   There is no shame in cheating by setting up the tent at ground level, and  then lifting the tent on to the deck.  (the tent only weighs 25 lbs).   If you do this… don’t forget to STRAP THE TENT DOWN to the deck before entering!    And if you’re still reading this.  We can’t stress enough.  Strap the tent to the base before entering!
