Product Details

Use these Rev Door Hooks to attach your Rev Tent for transport directly to a vehicle rooftop.  

This set of 4 straps are used to extend the Rev Straps to reach and attach to inside the door frame of the vehicle. The hooks fit underneath the rubber trim and grab against the steel door frame. These Rev hooks must be used in combination with the Rev Straps. 

Features UV and rot-resistant webbing.

NOTE:  It is not recommended to set your tent for transport directly on glass rooftops.   Steel roofs only, please! 

CHECK COMPATIBILITY BEFORE PURCHASE:  Take a quick look and see if your vehicle’s rubber door seal peels off sufficiently to expose the metal door frame.   These door hooks will not work on vehicles without a metal frame and without a weatherstripping seal around the door frame above the window.

FAQs

Q: How do I know if I have the correct door frame for these hooks to work? 
A: These hooks are considered a “Universal Fit” and we haven’t had any conflicts (*yet?). If you do find the hooks don’t fit and securely grab, you can return for a full refund. 

Q: Dang. I have a Tesla and you can’t use these with a glass top roof. What are my options? 
A: You can get a set of Tesla cross bars. The Rev Tent mounts nicely to it for transport to and from your camp site. All you need is a set of Rev Straps and you’re off to the races. Or, the Rev Tent actually fits inside Teslas. You will have to drop the back seats and slide it in. 

Q: Will these hooks damage or scratch my vehicle? 
A: The metal parts grab against the metal under the rubber trim, and the webbing will rest against the paint when the door is closed. Even the most grueling off-road expedition wear and tear will not harm the vehicle

HANDY HINT 1: Make sure you download the file, as you may not have internet where ever you chose to assemble your product.

WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions could result in damage to the product, your vehicle, or yourself and others.  Please contact us if you are confused or concerned about any of the steps or use of this product. 

SAFETY WARNING: 
Pull your straps tight. Don’t worry about “bending” your Rev Tent a bit. The Rev Tent will snap back in to shape. You need to make sure you have a secure tension to keep the hook on the vehicle door frame in place. Always triple check your straps. That means 3 times you must trace the route of the strap, tug on it, and make sure it is secured properly. That it won’t slip off. Won’t unhook. Won’t jiggle loose. And once you’re confident you got it right. Check them all one more time. Couldn’t hurt. We recommend checking your straps within the first few miles of driving, and then spot check every time you stop – for gas, for food, etc. 

CARE: 
You’ll get a lifetime of use out of the Rev Door Hooks if you store them out of the elements when not in use.

What are you looking for?

  1. In order to mount the Rev Rack Tent on your rack, you will need a platform style roof rack with flat surface of at least 48” x 84” / 1220mm x 2134mm with gaps between the slats no greater than 8” /203mm.
  2. Front Runner or Yakima / Rhino Rack Option: your Rev Rack Tent ships with 6 stainless steel eye nuts and appropriate track bolts.
  3. For “other” roof rack option: your Rev Rack Tent will come with a set of 4 Rev Straps that can be used to secure the tent to a wide variety of appropriately sized platform style roof racks for transport and sleep.
